For some reason events that I put in my device are not syncing to ical. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have even tried to overwrite the desktop with the device info. Weird. I am wondering how many events I have missed besides the dentist appt. I had only entered into my phone and it didn't synch. No errors are found in th history, but even my test events don't show up. Not sure what to do next.

When I did reinstall and re-sync only some of my contacts synced. I had to overwrite the device with the desktop. Will markspace ever get this all working right??

Help please!

Jskalla,

One thing to check right off the bat - is iCal itself synchronizing correctly?

A common enough issue; launch Console.app (/Applications/Console.app), select "Console.log" and search for "iCalExternalSync" in the search field.

If you're seeing any entries indicating issues, the "sync" we're performing is working but iCal is gummed up. Let us know and we can move forward from there.

That is a little over my head! I think I found the console you told me to look at so I copied and pasted it below....not sure what I am looking at.

Julie,

I suggest opening a ticket with our support team.

In your case, you're looking at errors that iCal's sync code is generating when iCal itself is trying to sync data from the central sync database (part of Apple's Sync Services) into its own calendar database. We can't control anything about this, unfortunately.

The support staff will be able to help you reset your iCal data in such a way that should get you back on track.

I did submit a ticket on Jan 31. Still no response. Got thinking though.....I did get a new Mac for Christmas and not sure it has been syncing correctly since then since it does sync from mac to device but not device to mac. Since there have not been any error messages I am wondering if that has something to do with my problem. I am not sure when it started, I just know it did.....

any suggestions would be great.

Julie

Brian - back on yet another thread trying to solve this problem. I took the above advice you gave Julie and received the following log - I have not copied the log in it's entirety when events are repeated - only the sections with issues. Please let me know what you think - thanks.

Just in case, I have attached a file for full review but it is quite long and repetitive. You may have what you need to understand right here. Just as FYI - I will send same to M/S support against my open ticket. It just takes so long to hear back from anyone that I am trying to sort this out by other means. Never mind re the file - this system is not allowing any of the file extensions that I typically use - frustrating. I would have expected that .log or .doc would have been OK>

Dyan3, Just FYI.....doing the console fix that was suggested did't work for me and actually messed stuff up more. I ended up with Apple support fixing the problem with isync. Everything is working for me now. I would call Apple and have them reset your isync. Worked for me.

I found one more error:
2/17/10 6:46:31 PM com.apple.syncservices.SyncServer[681] 2010-02-17 18:46:31.960 iCalExternalSync[682:903] [ICalExternalSync ]The sync server failed to let client iCal pull changes
2/17/10 6:46:31 PM iCalExternalSync[682] [ICalExternalSync ]The sync server failed to let client iCal pull changes

I have plenty of memory on my device - all errors seem to be pointing towards some memory issue. I also have plenty of memory on each of my computers. It is definitely being reinforced that I am no expert here.

Thanks for your continued edvice.

Julie - thank you so much. I will call Apple.

Amazing, this justt started up out of the blue, and affecting all of my machines. So incredibly frustrating.

Did Apple say anything about what could have caused all of this?

No, and the guy I talked to didn't know anything about MarkSpace or their apps. It just happened to me too totally out of the blue. But it is all working fine now. I need markspace to sync with my mac, but I have had a lot of trouble with it....this is the first time I had to go through Apple to fix it.
