Well I have had enough. I just can't believe this bug ridden unreliable pile of crap is being sold as working software.

DO NOT BUY THIS IT DOES NOT WORK AND HAS MORE ISSUES THAN A CELEB IN A REHAB CLINIC

While I'd say "a pile of crap" is a bit of an overstatement, I don't believe version 4 is ready for prime time. It's still at beta quality and probably shouldn't have been shipped as a final at this stage...

Version 3 was great. It was very solid and only dropped the ball once or twice during all the time I was using it. Version 4 however just will not behave. Once a number of bugs are fixed, I think V4 will be great.

While I wouldn't say 'dont buy it', I'd say wait for v4.1...

Well, since we're venting...

When you sell a car, it better not be in "beta"...what if the brakes don't work or the engine computer doesn't "sync"...

Unfortunately there aren't any alternatives right now, pocketmac hasn't even gotten their product to work with WM5.

Most software isn't ready when it is released...I'm on Mac OS 10.4.10...10 levels from the first version. A few bugs are to be expected, but when the software doesn't do what the producer claims it will, eh...Why don't my notes sync, ever?

I guess all we can do is keep the pressure on the developers so they don't just take our $$ and run. Version 3.02 seemed to work pretty well, but stupid me wanted to use WM6

so I am not the only one...
have been talking with support and it is feeble to say the least.
I have a treo 750 WM5....would MS verion 3.02 be better for me than 4.0.
Is it possible to downgrade for free?

I will be willing to bet that no person has ever synced a 750 to a mac via bluetooth....

I've got a Treo 750, along with a couple of other devices, and it syncs via bt and usb just fine. There's an asterisk to that, though.

I'm using the POS that is 3.02, that broke stuff that was working before, and Markspace doesn't want to know about it, and won't even confirm if these bugs were fixed or not in 4.0:

I can no longer install cabs from the install list tab. You can put cabs there all day long, and the log will say they were installed, but nothing happens. This is the only bug I think Markspace acknowledged, and no word if it was ever fixed. They created this bug themselves. It used to not be there.

Their "workaround"? Mount your device and then drag and drop the file. Nice try, over bluetooth, you can't even sync 1mb or more..maybe 100k's is asking too much before you get an error code 36. Nope, their workaround only works via usb. Again, the device mounting wasn't always so bad.

This is all under 3.02, which is such a POS it's unbelievable that Markspace can look us in the eye and say they did this crap on purpose. I'll go you one better than rolling back to it, I'd say we should be allowed to roll back to 3.00, and yet not one of those Markspace people will respond.

Were these bugs fixed in 4.0 or not? Can Markspace please just say yes or no?

I'll have to agree.
It is not fit for sale.

I have bought version 2 and version 3, all suffered annoying bugs but could get around them, bought 4.0 (no choice really). It works when it wants, and when it does, it usually creates problem (duplicates, notes hanging forever etc...)

Really piece of crap :(

Yes, the issues with cab install have been fixed. The issues involved were intermittent (to some) or nonexistant (to others) - which is one of the reasons why it didn't show up in our testing.

Another workaround that I've suggested on this forum is to use the FileSync plugin to copy the file to the device - much more reliable than mounting - and then simply tap the cab to launch it after sync.

Thanks for replying, and yes, I can report success with version 4 and the Treo 750, and Qtek 8500. :)

I did have some bluetooth hiccups, bluetooth was suddenly unavailable after I installed TMS, and I had a hell of a time getting it back. None of the known tricks seemed to be working, and of course I couldn't hibernate my macbook either. I don't see how that's related to simply installing TMS, especially when I had the start at login disabled, and it was only listening over usb at the time.

So other than that hiccup, which I don't think has anything to do with TMS, it's worked a charm over usb and bt (once bt behaved itself again).

And yes, those bugs were fixed... which I'm of two minds about. As I've said before, I don't mind paying for new features, you have to earn money somehow. But bug fixes... paying for those frankly sucks, but we're a captive audience, sadly.

Missing Sync 4.0 has once again, randomly, decided to stop working. It connects, wow! Then you hit sync and.........the time of the last sync changes to the current time and then......nothing.

I guess the 123rd re-install is called for. Or perhaps I should re-install MAC OSX or perhaps I should hard reset my device....and on and on and on and on.

For those of us who use our macs and PDA's for business this is such a waste of time, I have spent 30 mins this morning trying to get an appointment into my XDA

When this happens, do the following:
Unplug the WM device.
in a terminal, type:
sudo kill -9 `ps ax | grep -i miss | cut -d' ' -f2`

This will kill all missing sync instance running. Then start Missing Sync as usual. Quit, restart it.

Plug the phone again.

Can someone (i.e. MarkSpace!) please create a utility or an Applescript that does this?

Just to be devil's advocate - my Missing Sync worked fine with my Blackjack in 3.x and still works fine with 4.x. I'm using a PowerBook with 10.4.10, and only sync over USB (bluetooth is too slow). So it hasn't been a POS for me!
