Hello
Please let me know when this works with Daylite. I love the interface, but need to synch with Daylite not iCal or Addressbook.

I'll buy the moment that happens, as I am tired of the Blackberry sych not working well.

Thanks!!!

The most likely way you will be able to sync with Daylite is if/when Daylite adds support for Apple's Sync Services.

The Missing Sync for BlackBerry has plugins for Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes that sync with Apple's Sync Services data. iCal and Address Book are examples of applications that sync these data types with Sync Services. Entourage can also sync these data types with Apple's Sync Services. As more and more applications support Sync Services you should be able to sync with those apps too.

Thanks Ken
So if I understand correclty, the current synch tht happens with the Blackberry and Daylite does not tap into the Apple resource, rather uses something else Daylite and Blackberry came up with?

I appreciate the information. Still wish yours worked with it though.

It's quite possible the Daylite will introduce Sync Services Support very soon, as it's been a hot topic.

Sync Services is an Apple technology by which other programs can communicate with built-in apps like Address Book iCal, etc, and the resulting effect is that other 3rd-party apps (like Missing Sync and Daylite) can communicate directly with each other.

It's because Missing Sync depends on Sync Services that it's currently not supporting Daylite. Actually, it's because Daylite doesn't support Sync Services that you can't make it work just yet.

Regards,

Luis

I just bought missing sync because it said in the description that it syncs to Daylite. I pay the $40 and to my surprise, I can't get missing sync to sync with blackberry.

I have the Blackberry 8830 Verizon
Daylite 3.2.3
I have the new MacBook Pro 10.4.10

Any Suggestions?

You must sync Daylite to Address Book FIRST, as missing sync currently DOES NOT SYNC DIRECTLY to Daylite.

You will not be able to sync directly to Daylite until Marketcircle releases a version of Daylite that supports Sync Services. Daylite 3.2.3 DOES NOT support sync services.

Thanks Luis for your quick response. However, I think the paragraph below taken from the website is very misleading.
http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_blackberry.php

Quote:
The Missing Sync uses Apple's Sync Services technology, allowing information from other Sync Services-savvy applications, such as Chronos SOHO Organizer, Microsoft Entourage 2004 and soon, Market Circle Daylite, to sync between your Mac and your BlackBerry handset. As more applications use this technology, The Missing Sync will be able to pass their data to your BlackBerry, increasing its flexibility and usefulness.

If the release has not come yet for Daylite then it should not be listed as able to sync with blackberry. I think this website should be revised. When I bought it, I had no option for a trial period. Do you know when Daylite will support sync services?

It does say, "and soon"...which means it's not supported just yet. That's actually pretty clear, and doesn't seem misleading to me.

We're all patiently waiting for the Sync Services release of Daylite, which will be version 3.5 (currently in Beta testing). Keep your eyes peeled on the Marketcircle site for updates.

Regards,

Luis

I see what you are saying but "soon" didn't jump out at me when reading this description. I have been working on a solution for 2 days straight with little sleep. I was expecting some sort of warning of the limitations of the program like "Currently Missing Sync works with the following programs..." or a Matrix of supported applications. Basically, I don't appreciate paying for something that doesn't work when I buy it. I love the functionality of Missing Sync. However, it does not solve my immediate problem which I guess I will have to go back to the drawing board and search through the maze of information out there to solve my Daylite/Blackberry issue.

Until then, thanks for your help.

Thanks,
Donnita

The workaround is actually very simple:

In Daylite:
File>Database> Sync with Addressbook

Then also export your calendar to iCal.

Missing Sync will sync these no problem, it works like this for me. I use iCal mind you, as I need to publish events on the web, but this workaround will disappear once version 3.5 comes out.

Hope this helps.

My problem is the Calendar, tasks, and notes. I have successfully synced the address book.

My problem is this:
When I make calendar, task, or note changes to my device, my notes are in a completely different program, ical will not export my tasks to daylite. Also, I must delete my entire daylite calendar before I import the revised ical calendar sync from my device to prevent duplication. I have more that 300 appointments and events. I don't want to spend all my time deleting and reimporting my calendar from ical to daylite when I make changes from my blackberry.

I just go my new mac a few weeks ago and I have been converting my information from Windows to Mac Programs. I tried keeping my data in windows virtual machine application (Parallels) but I really liked Daylite and converted everything from Outlook to Daylite.

This is what I am trying to solve.
