Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with iTunes playlist syncing. The synced playlists do not show up in Media Player even after updating the library. I looked at the files that were created during the sync process. The asx file should contain the playlist information but has a size of zero bytes, so that's why Media Player does not recognize the playlist.

I am using Missing Sync 3.0.2 (335) on a MacBook with 10.4.9, iTunes 7.1.1 with an Asus 696 Windows Mobile 5 device.

Thanks for your support,

Ben

If you try with just one play list does the same thing happen? If you look at the sync location do you find the actual files have been synced to the handheld? or are that files not syncing either?

I would suggest contacting Mark/Space support by going to:

I my attempt was already limited to one playlist. The folder structure and the mp3 files got successfully synced, so no problem here. Only the asx file remained empty.

If there are no more ideas, I will give it a try and contact the support about the issue.

Thanks a lot,

Ben

I'm not sure what an asx file is, is that a file type? It's empty? Did it sync to the handheld? If not, you can add support for new file extensions by going to Missing Sync, double click the Mark/Space Music plugin, then click the 'Advanced Options' button. Click the + sign, enter asx hit the 'enter' key, then press 'OK'.

But it might be best to contact support: http://www.markspace.com/support/reques ... obile.html

An asx file is a playlist file that media player on the handheld can understand. That file is created during the sync process so no need to add file types, but in my case that file is created but remains empty. I have already contacted support about the issue.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben, are there any messages in either the Missing Sync log or in your console.log (use the Console application in /Applications/Utilities/ to view it) right after you sync? There's a possibility that our plugin encountered an error trying to write to this file and so it stays empty.

Apart from that, I don't know why it wouldn't be written. But we'll pursue it.

Hi,

No, nothing in the logs that would indicate an error while writing the asx file. But I have some good news as well: I tried to rename the playlist, but the problem persited. Next, I tried with a new playlist with another selection of mp3s which worked as expected. I have no idea what went wrong before, maybe some problem while reading id3 tags.

Thanks,

Ben
